Birds of a feather flock together - The story behind Raven Artworx

Some stories are planned. Others unfold one chapter at a time. Raven Artworx was never part of a grand master plan—it grew naturally through friendship, creativity, and a shared belief that the best stories are the ones you build together.

Every good story starts small.

Looking back, it's funny to think that Raven Artworx began as nothing more than a name behind my own creative work. At the time, it simply served as the business behind Raven the Pirate, my online brand in the EDC and knife community where I did what I liked most: telling stories through photos and videos. I'd photograph new releases, produce product videos, travel to trade shows, and work with brands that shared the same passion for craftsmanship.

That alone would have been enough.

But stories have a way of evolving.

As my own brand grew, so did the opportunities that came with it. Photography and videography turned into social media management. That led to consulting, marketing strategy, product collaborations, knife design, event coverage, and countless projects that never fit any job description. To this day I don’t know what to answer when people ask me “So, what’s your job?”.

What started as freelancing slowly transformed into something much bigger.

I realized brands weren't just looking for someone who could take beautiful photos.

They were looking for someone who understood how to tell their story.

No One Tells Great Stories Alone

One thing became increasingly clear over the years.

The projects I was most proud of were never created alone.

Whether it was brainstorming a campaign, filming a documentary, designing a knife, or simply exchanging ideas over coffee, the best work always happened when different people brought different perspectives to the table.

That's where Rikki comes in.

His style is instantly recognizable. He has a way of telling stories that is second to none. In a time of Snapchat and fast-food content, he found a way to create entertaining documentaries that fit into an Instagram Reel. Brantley from Big Idea Design coined the term “Reelumentary“.

Over the years we found ourselves collaborating more and more.

Sometimes we'd spend days filming documentaries, sometimes we'd shoot ridiculous Reels just because they made us laugh.

Other times we'd spend hours talking through ideas that eventually became real projects.

Without really noticing it, our collaboration became one of the most valuable parts of our work.

Somewhere along the way, we stopped thinking like two creators helping each other—and started thinking like a team.

A Bigger Toolbox

Eventually we asked ourselves a simple question:

What's better than two individual creatives? -A creative TEAM.

Not because we wanted to become bigger or because we wanted a fancy title. But because together we could offer something neither of us could provide alone.

Every creator has strengths and together those strengths don't just add up, they multiply.

That's exactly what Raven Artworx has become.

The Swiss Army Knife of creators

Our goal has never been to fit neatly into one category.

Some agencies only shoot photos, others only make videos. Some focus exclusively on social media, others consult.

We never wanted those boundaries.

Instead, we want Raven Artworx to become the Swiss Army Knife in the EDC and knife industry.

Whether cinematic product photography, documentary-style videos, product design, branding, marketing, content creation or social media management, we’ve got you covered.

That's where things get really exciting.

Because every project starts with the same question:

"What's the story we're trying to tell?"

Everything else grows from there.

Stories Built to Last

The motto we both live by is:

We don't make products. We make stories.

The products simply become part of those stories. People don't remember specifications, they remember emotions. They remember adventures and the people behind the brand - why something was created in the first place.

That's the kind of work we want Raven Artworx to be known for.

Not just creating content but creating stories that people want to become part of.
